Celebrity Judges, Real-world Opportunities and Practical Prizes Highlight the 2011 Goodnight Kiss Music & Song Competition
HONOLULU, Hawaii (MuseWire) – An opportunity to play a three-song set at the Kona Music Festival in Hawaii is just one of the prizes awaiting the winner of the 2011 Goodnight Kiss Music and Song Competition which is now accepting entries.
The Goodnight Kiss Competition (www.goodnightkiss.com/contest.html), now in its second decade of success, will this year run from the start of September through the middle of November. One big difference between the annual Goodnight Kiss competition and other contests that seem to hold mini-events every month is that many of the Goodnight Kiss judges are actively seeking material to license for their projects.
One judge, Wayne Clark of Mirage International Productions, says he wants to hear every entry because he uses a great deal of music in his company’s movies, ads, videos and major segments for TV. Thus, every entry will also be an audition for those opportunities.
Similarly, judge Matt Forger (Michael Jackson, Yumi Matsutoya) will be considering songs for presentation to the producers, managers and recording artists he sees every day at his Anisound mixing/mastering studio and his Rock ‘n’ Roll Recording studio.
Each entry will also be considered for:
* a record deal by Spectra Records president Cornelius White
* recording by country artist Sandra Piller
* the next project by Nashville songwriter/producer Jane Bach
* use in film/TV projects by Dominique Preyer of Hear It Clear It Music Supervision
* appearance at the Evolution Dome festival in the U.K.
“We consider these exciting opportunities as additional prizes,” states Janet Fisher of Goodnight Kiss Music, “but the actual awards are also pretty impressive.” Prizes include cash awards, a complete music video, multi-tone guitar pick-up gear from Awesome-Guitars, a 2T Fantom External HD, Swarovski crystal earbuds, photo featured in Music Connection magazine, interview and song performance on one of Sheena Metal’s programs on the nationally syndicated LA Talk Radio programming, online memberships to the Music Registry Film & TV Guide, Crystal USB drive bracelets, copies of the Indie Bible and Indie Venue Bible, USB Drives, DVD spindle packs, copies of the hilarious “Music Horror Stories” book, Broadjam memberships, and more.
Sponsors are rallying around the event as they have in prior years. “We have been proud to be an online sponsor for Goodnight Kiss for many of their competitions,” says Jesse Spohn of Broadjam.
Using real world industry contacts in the film, TV and ad industries, Goodnight Kiss pitches contest entries to active decision-makers. “Plus, albums and collections we have created from contest entries are earning sales royalties for our participants,” Fisher notes. “Our many albums on iTunes and other legitimate music sites are promoted for more major uses whenever appropriate.” In addition, contest winners are found in films, ads, and shows that have received digital and terrestrial broadcasts throughout the world.”
