Songdrops Music extends offering of free Bryant Oden Song downloads for children’s organizations
Boulder, Colo. (MuseWire) – Songdrops Music (http://Songdrops.com ) has announced it is extending and expanding last month’s popular “free Bryant Oden songs for teachers” program, to include not only teachers and schools, but other children’s organizations and professionals as well. The free CD downloads, available through http://Songdrops.com/teachers , was originally limited to classroom teachers, and was scheduled to end November 30th. It has now been extended through the rest of 2010, and expanded to include any organizations that work with children.
The free mp3 downloads include all 60 songs from the three Songdrops CDs. Bryant Oden’s most popular songs are included in the downloads, such as the viral sensation “The Duck Song”, which has around 25 million YouTube views and is now a push-to-play children’s book, as well as “I Got a Pea”, “Honey Bear”, “This Song is Stuck inside My Head”, and others.
Because of positive feedback from teachers, Oden decided to extend the free mp3 download offer for another month and to expand it beyond teachers and schools, to other organizations and professionals that work with children.
Oden explains, “I got an email not long ago from a mother whose daughter is developmentally delayed, and she doesn’t respond to much in her environment at all. But when she listens to Songdrops songs, her eyes light up and she moves to the music and sings along, which the mother had never seen before. To get that kind of email was really encouraging and humbling. And it reminded me that you just never know how things might ripple outward. So I wanted to include group homes, children’s hospitals, and other organizations and professionals who work to help the lives of children. If they feel these songs can be helpful for their work, or help bring some smiles to children who could use them, I’m happy to share the songs, even if their organization’s budget doesn’t allow buying them.”
Before Songdrops, Oden started http://InnocentEnglish.com, a popular humor site that gets around a million visitors a month. He began recording funny kids songs two years ago, after years of prompting from friends and family. His children’s songs now have nearly 50 million YouTube views. The free mp3 song downloads of 60 Bryant Oden children’s songs are available until the end of the year at the Songdrops website.
