Kurzweil Announces 64 New Sounds for the SP4 Series Keyboards
Woodland Hills, Calif. (MuseWire) – In response to requests from customers for more keyboard sounds, Kurzweil USA is releasing OS v2.00 and 64 new presets for the SP4-7/8 stage piano, both of which can be downloaded from Kurzweil’s website free of charge.
These sounds include many classic electro-mechanical sounds that are simply not available on any other stage piano in this price range; several variations inspired by* the Hohner® Pianet, Wurlitzer®, Rhodes® with stereo tremolo and phaser, CP80 electric grand with chorus, B3 and Vox® organs and Mellotron® strings, flutes and choir. Many virtual analog synth sounds are included as well; classic leads, synth brass, and pads.
The sound set also provides a variety of new acoustic pianos, some of which are layered with synths, strings and pads. A bank of 8 new string programs, including fast, tremolo and adagio articulations is offered as well.
“This kind of customization for a stage piano in this price range is quite forward-thinking,” says Mike Papa, Kurzweil National Sales Manager for American Music and Sound. “These sounds have been optimized for the SP4’s sound engine and are gig-ready out of the box. By breaking the sounds up into groups of 8, we allow users to custom mix and match which sets of sounds suit their needs.”
The release of the new OS and sounds demonstrates Kurzweil’s willingness to listen to and act on input from our customers. Once again, Kurzweil continues to support and improve our products, allowing them to grow alongside you and your music.
