FXpansion Audio Updates BFD2; adds JEX Expansion Kit
LONDON, England — FXpansion Audio UK Ltd. has announced an updat to BFD 2, their highly regarded drum sample system. Version 2.0.5.10 is now available, and is “strongly recommended” by the company for all users of BFD2. Improvements include long sample tails choking, out of memory warning dialog popping up x-number of times, and some behavioral logic in the groove engine that wasn’t completely consistent.
This update is free of charge to all registered BFD2 users and can be downloaded from the registered user’s log-in account on the FXpansion website.
FXpansion also recently announced a new expansion pack, the JEX Expansion Kit. The BFD2 JEX Expansion Kit features a high-end, custom hand-made kit from XDrum’s Xotica line. The drums feature 6-ply Keller Maple shells with an additional ply of Sapeli Pommele running vertically, resulting in excellent, focused low-end. The finish is hand-applied tung oil, which leads to a very open tone.
This download-only BFD2 expansion kit includes the following kit-pieces, all played with sticks, mallets, brushes and rods. The kick drum was hit with both a wood and felt beater.
Custom XDrum 18×22 inch kick
Custom XDrum 8×8 inch tom
Custom XDrum 8×10 inch tom
Custom XDrum 8×12 inch tom
Custom XDrum 14×14 inch tom
You also get a bonus download of a detail-reduced Ludwig Super Sensitive snare from the Jazz & Funk expansion pack.
There are no hihats or cymbals included with this expansion kit. BFD2 JEX Expansion Kit is a download only product and is available now from the FXpansion web shop!
