First Annual Blues at the Moon Music Festival, presented by Ground Zero Blues Club
PHILADELPHIA, Miss. — In conjunction with the first annual Blues at The Moon Music Festival at Golden Moon Hotel & Casino, a Blues Symposium and Jam Session will take place this evening at the Old Ellis Theatre in Philadelphia. The free event is open to the public. Led by Dr. Alfonso Sanders, head of the Fine Arts Department at Mississippi Valley State University, and recording artist Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry, the session will explore the history of Blues and be punctuated by a jam session.
Both the discussion and the jam session will provide photo opportunities.

WHY:
Mississippi is widely known as the birthplace of the Blues, and Pearl River Resort’s Golden Moon Hotel & Casino is celebrating with its first annual Blues at the Moon Music Festival, presented by Ground Zero Blues Club October 17 and 18.
The festival features high-profile acts such as headliners The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Solomon Burke, as well as Big Jack Johnson, Deborah Coleman, Eddie Cotton, Jimmy Duck Holmes, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Bobby Rush, Ruby Wilson and Bill Howl-N-Madd Perry himself.
