MuseWire NEWS: Cakewalk this week announced a new “high definition” digital piano library for its Dimension Pro and LE virtual instrument platforms. Based on the success of the HD Songwriters Collection, Digital Sound Factory brings two new grand pianos to Dimension Pro/LE in High Definition. Using high quality microphones and preamps, multiple layers were recorded at 24-bit resolution to capture the full dynamic range. As a result of this process, the samples are perfectly matched, sound great, and are free of artifacts. With a natural sounding wooden resonant tone and very long sustain, these pianos are the ultimate addition to Dimension Pro.

Two models are available, HD Steinway Grand Piano and HD Yamaha Grand Piano. Introductory pricing is $99 each.

About the HD Yamaha:
The Yamaha C7 (7-foot 6inch) is part of the Conservatory Concert Collection and is built using high quality materials and careful production process. This magnificent Yamaha C7 piano has been used on numerous albums and was recorded at ‘The Music Annex’ near San Francisco, California. Eight microphones were used to record high quality 24 bit samples of pedal up, pedal down, and note up. Each layer has been fine-tuned and mapped to Dimension creating one of the most realistic sampled grand pianos.
